In this course, we will take a bird's-eye view of the Kamakura period from "Azuma Kagami" as a historical material, and examine its compilation process and its characteristics from various angles. This course introduces famous historical sites in Kanagawa Prefecture, which served as the stage for the Genpei War and the birth of the Kamakura Shogunate, from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura period, which is the historical background of the NHK Taiga drama currently being aired. By explaining the historical background and the personalities of Yoshitoki Hojo and his vassals, we aim to learn about the history of the region around us.

This course introduces famous historical sites in Kanagawa Prefecture, which served as the stage for the Genpei War and the birth of the Kamakura Shogunate, from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura period, which is the historical background of the NHK Taiga drama currently being aired. By explaining the historical background and the personalities of Hojo Yoshitoki and his vassals, we aim to learn about the history of the area around us.

This course traces the history of the Hakone Ekiden, which will celebrate its 100th event in 2024, one century after the first Kanto University Ekiden between Tokyo and Hakone in 1920.  

 The secret story behind the birth of the Hakone Ekiden, the role played by the former Odawara Junior High School (currently Odawara High School) and the community, and the historical and social background of sports at that time Lectures and panel discussions from a variety of perspectives I do.

This course provides easy-to-understand explanations of the origins and characteristics of the topography of Mt. Fuji and Hakone, and introduces new perspectives when actually climbing or sightseeing.

In addition, students will deepen their understanding of environmental issues by learning about the natural history of their immediate surroundings.
